Delhi gangrape convicts Mukesh, Pawan move SC against death penalty
Mukesh and Pawan are among the six men convicted in the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman inside a moving bus on December 16, 2012.

New Delhi: After the Delhi High Court upheld their death sentences in the December 16 gangrape case, two of the convicts have now approached the Supreme Court challenging their conviction and the death sentence.

The apex court will hear their pleas shortly.

Mukesh and Pawan are among the six men convicted in the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman inside a moving bus on December 16, 2012.

The woman succumbed to her injuries a fortnight later.

One of the six accused was found dead in his jail cell later. Another accused was a juvenile at the time of the crime and was sent to a reform home for three years, the maximum term under the juvenile law.
