Dam panel rejects Kerala complaint

NEW DELHI: The high power committee appointed by the Supreme Court on the Mullaperiyar Dam issue has rejected the complaint filed by Kerala against the inspection carried out by a technical team at the dam site alleging that it was done without informing it.But the committee, during its internal meeting held here on Monday, rejected the complaint as it reached a conclusion that the state government was kept in the loop regarding the visit of the expert committee. It, however, appreciated the state government for submitting the feasibility report for new Mullaperiyar Dam on time.  It has also asked Tamil Nadu government to file its reply on the project document on the new dam.
