CPM limits term of secretaries

KOZHIKODE: The CPM party congress on Sunday passed the constitutional amendment put forth by general secretary Prakash Karat fixing the tenure of general secretary and secretaries of the lower fract ions by three terms.As pe r the ame n dme n t , which was passed by voting, in case any leader has to be given a fourth term it should be endorsed by threefourth of the respective committee besides the approval of the upper fraction of the party.This is for the first time that the CPM is limiting tenures of its leaders.
