Couple found dead, police suspect suicide

A young couple was found dead near Nagar Ghat on the banks of river Narmada in Omkareshwar town on Tuesday.

The couple's hands were tied with a cloth (dupatta) and it is suspected that they jumped into the river with an intention to commit suicide, Mandhata Police Station in-charge B P Bhadoria said.

They were about 25-year-old and appeared to have married recently.

The couple was not yet identified by the police and their bodies have been sent for autopsy after registering a case, police added.
