BAGALKOT:Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister S Suresh Kumar justified Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah’s decision of forming a House Committee to probe into the porngate incident.Three BJP legislators - Lakshman Savadi, C C Patil and Krishna J Palemar - were caught red-handed while watching porn clips when the Assembly was in session early this month.Addressing media persons after inaugurating the new court complex at Navanagar on Sunday, Suresh Kumar said constructing a House Committee to probe into a particular issue was in accordance with the democratic principles of the nation.The law minister further said the Speaker would take a final decision on the three BJP legislators once the Committee submitted its final report.Asked why a complaint was not lodged against the three MLAs, Suresh Kumar, quoting former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterji’s decision of forming a House Committee with regard to ‘money for vote’ scandal, said, “Suitable decision will be taken only after receiving the final report from the committee.Both the cases are not similar.” He added that the JD(S) and Congress would soon join the Committee.
