The AICC leadership has finalised the muhurtam for YSR Congress Party’s merger with the Congress which might take place on January 5, TDP general secretary and former minister Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary has said.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he alleged that because of the two parties’ understanding on merger the CBI slowed down its investigation while the Enforcement Directorate did not even begin its probe in the case against YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
He said the Union law ministry changed the CBI’s advocates who were arguing against Jagan in the the court.
“The UPA government wants to bail out all the accused persons in the Jagan’s case to facilitate the parties’ merger.’’ Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao was playing a key role in this gameplan on the direction of AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
That was why so many top AICC leaders attended the function organised in Delhi recently to release KVP’s book on YSR’s padayatra in 2003, Chowdary said.
He said AICC leaders including Sonia Gandhi were shareholders of the loot of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy.
Ever since her visit to Delhi, YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi had been maintaining silence on the cause of YSR’s death, he pointed out.
Echoing Chowdary’s view, another senior leader and former Union minister K Yerran Naidu said circumstantial evidence was strongly pointing to possible merger of the YSRCP with the Congress.
YSR’s former close friends Veerappa Moily and KVP Ramachandra Rao were playing key roles in this, he said.
