HYDERABAD: The Congress has decided to contest the Banswada byelection.
After meeting AICC general secretary and incharge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad in Delhi on Wednesday, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana announced that the party would field its candidate for Banswada bypoll. Winning or losing the byelection is not important for the Congress, but fielding its candidate is significant, he said. When asked about the Congress' election plank, Botcha said: "Wait and see what the Congress will tell people of Banswada."

On Sakalajanula Samme, the PCC chief said it was affecting the common man. He appealed to government employees of Telangana region to call off their strike. Azad is continuing discussions with leaders of the state on Telangana issue.
