HYDERABAD: Majority members belonging to the ruling Congress have found fault with Union home minister P Chidambaram’s statement seeking the Andhra Pradesh Assembly to adopt another resolution for deletion of clause 14(f) from the Presidential Order.Talking to newsmen after a meeting with Telangana Congress steering committee chairman K Jana Reddy at the latter’s residence here on Tuesday, IT and communications minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and BC welfare minister Baswaraj Saraiah remarked that Chidambaram’s statement was nothing but showing disrespect to the state Assembly and its members. Even chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has made it clear there is no need for another resolution on the issue. On the other hand, Seemandhra Congress public representatives’ convenor and primary education minister S Sailajanath urged his Telangana counterparts to cooperate for smooth conduct of SI examination. He said the issue of clause 14 (f) should be kept aside since more than 15,000 candidates were preparing for the exam since 2008. Government whip Kondru Murali also felt that there was no need for another resolution on clause 14(f).Meanwhile in New Delhi, the 10 Telangana Congress MPs who had resigned to their posts and stayed away from the Parliament session on Monday, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with a request that the latter take steps for early deletion of clause 14(f).
