BANGALORE: Thousands of Congress workers will stage a black flag demonstration against the Jan Chetna Yatra undertaken by senior BJP leader LK Advani when he arrives in the city on Sunday.“This is to convey that Advani has no moral ground to speak against corruption and for good governance in Karnataka as his party has failed on both counts. During our peaceful demonstration, we will tell Advani to go back,” KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar addressed the media here on Saturday.Even as Advani is to address a public meeting at the National High School grounds in the evening on Sunday, the Congress will hold its protest demonstration in Freedom Park at 3 pm. “Congress workers will stage black flag demonstration all along the coastal route where Advani is going to speak in the public meetings at Mangalore, Udupi and Karwar,” he said.According to Parameshwar, it is hypocritical for Advani to speak on good governance and corruption with his party’s tall leader and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and three of his Cabinet colleagues languishing in jail on charges of graft. Will Advani speak on corruption? Will senior BJP leader L K Advani touch upon the corruption charges against the state government in his public speech on Sunday?People will be curious about this when the former deputy prime minister addresses a public rally at the National High School Grounds on Sunday at 6 pm. For, the main purpose of Advani’s on-going ‘Jan Chetna’ yatra is to mobilise public opinion against corruption. The fact that Advani has been vocal about the deeds of former CM B S Yeddyurappa who has now been jailed on corruption charges will only add to this curiosity.
