HYDERABAD: The Election Commission has slapped a notice on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his controversial speech during an election campaign which is in violation of the poll code.The Election Commission took a serious note of the chief minister’s remarks wherein he appealed to the voters to cast 10 votes each for the ruling party in the byelections. The EC gave the chief minister time till May 31 to reply to the notice, official sources said.Speaking to newsmen at the Secretariat on Tuesday, chief electoral officer Bhanwarlal said the YSR Congress had lodged a complaint against Kiran Reddy accusing him of violating the code of conduct. Taking cognizance of the complaint, the EC issued the notice, he said.Another complaint against the chief minister which is pending with the EC is that he reportedly made some serious comments at an election rally in Tirupati a few days ago.
