CBI registers 8 more FIRs in Vyapam scam
According to a CBI spokesperson here, the first case has been registered against 22 persons in connection with the
alleged impersonation by certain persons in respect of five candidates during the Vyapam-conducted Pre-Medical Test (PMT) 2011, who went on to join a medical college at Rewa.

New Delhi: CBI on Sunday registered eight more FIRs in connection with Vyapam scam, taking the number of cases filed in connection with alleged irregularities in the conduct of professional and academic examinations by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board to 23 so far.

According to a CBI spokesperson here, the first case has been registered against 22 persons in connection with the alleged impersonation by certain persons in respect of five candidates during the Vyapam-conducted Pre-Medical Test (PMT) 2011, who went on to join a medical college at Rewa.

The second case was against 28 persons on allegations of impersonation by certain persons in respect of 10 candidates in Vyapam-conducted Pre Medical Test (PMT) 2012, who also joined a medical college at Rewa.

The spokesperson said the third case was related to allegations of cheating by impersonation in Constable Recruitment Examination 2013 (II). Six accused, including five beneficiaries, were booked in the fourth case for allegedly cheating by impersonation in PMT-2009 for securing admission in a medical college at Bhopal.

The agency has registered fifth case against two accused persons on the allegations of cheating by impersonation in PMT 2009, she said. In the sixth case, one accused has been booked for allegedly cheating by impersonation in PMT 2009.

The seventh case is also against one accused person for allegedly cheating by impersonation in police constable recruitment exam 2012, the official said. In the last FIR filed, the agency has registered a case against two accused persons for cheating by impersonation in police constable recruitment exam 2012, she said.

So far, 23 FIRs have been registered by CBI in connection with its probe in Vyapam related cases.
