THENI: All the 39 MPs from Tamil Nadu should resign to condemn the intransigence of the Centre over the Mullaiperiyar dam row, DMDK leader Vijaykanth demanded here on Monday.During a demonstration here he told his party cadre to demand the implementation of the SC ruling to increase the storage level of the dam from 136 feet to 142 feet and to condemn the intransigent attitude of the Centre. Captain said that he was proud to participate in the agitation as one who had grown up drinking the water from Mullaiperiyar dam.Kerala government triggered the problem in 1979 claiming that the dam had become weak following which TN spent crores of rupees to strengthen the structure. But with a view to avenge the Tamils, Kerala was continuing to harp on its claim. Vijaykanth said that instead of asking Kerala to implement the ruling of the SC, the Prime Minister was suggesting talks between the two states. All the MPs from TN should resign protesting the indifference of the Centre, he reiterated.
