Inspector General of Police, Ranvir Singh Krishnia, inaugurated a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on anti-human trafficking issues here on Tuesday. Experts like Sithannan, Superintendent of Police (Retd) from Tamil Nadu, and criminologist, Dr Umamageswari, delivered lectures on the concepts and dimensions of human trafficking and prevention, its investigation techniques, the prosecution of cases, the rescue and post-rescue care and also the inter-state coordination initiatives by various law enforcement agencies and the roles of NGOs.

The programme, being held as a follow up of the initiatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs to familiarize the law enforcement personnel and other stake holders with the dimensions and adverse impact of the crime involving human trafficking.

The first day of the programme was attended by SPs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and officials from departments like Labour, Social Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, Law, Health and various NGOs.
