PUDUCHERRY: A man and his son were killed when a bus rammed the motorcycle on which they were travelling, near Chinnamudaliarchavadi on Thursday.Police said the deceased, Saravanan (42) and Dinesh (18) of Pukunam Street in Saram, Puducherry, were returning from a temple in Keelputhupet, when a private bus, under contract to Pondicherry University, hit their motorcyle. Both died on the spot.The bus also hit two other persons, Ramasamy and daughter Maheshari, who were travelling on another motorcycle. Both the injured were rushed to the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).Traffic on the busy ECR stretch was affected for nearly 45 minutes due to the accident. The whereabouts of the bus driver were still unknown. Kottakuppam police registered a case.Child Dies of BurnsA three-year-old girl, Priyadarshini, from Kilimangalam near Vriddhachalam succumbed to burn injuries on Thursday after she accidently tipped a vessel of hot water onto herself. She was taken to a hospital in Puducherry where she died.
