BANGALORE: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa seems to have realised that his return to the CM post is not possible in the immediate future and he has to fall in line with the party high command’s advice.Enough indications to this effect came from the former CM when he said, “Yeddyurappa is not indispensable for the BJP. There are many Yeddyurappas in the party. In fact, the state needs the BJP. “There are several others like me in the party who need to be recognised. They have to be given opportunities to become chief ministers. As for me, I will continue working for the welfare of the people of the state.” Yeddyurappa said this to reporters on the sidelines of a function here on Friday. He also said that he would not stress fulfillment of his demands anymore and that the party could decide on it whenever it feels necessary to do so.On his state-tour also Yeddyurappa sought to come clear. “My tour will neither be a show of strength nor will it be against the party. I am only visiting places on the request of BJP MLAs. Moreover, the BJP is a party we have built over the years. I will work for its further strengthening,” he explained.Commenting on the “ineligibility” of other parties to form successful governments, the former CM hailed the BJP’s chances of making it to the Centre. “The parties that are around are not eligible to form successful governments. In my view, I think the BJP has a good chance to form a government at the Centre,” he said. Earlier, when asked about the mention of his name by a delegation of BJP leaders who recently visited New Delhi, Yeddyurappa said: “The delegation went to New Delhi to discuss matters about the state with the high command. My name may have cropped up in the process. I will never go to New Delhi to beg for a chair. If they think I am deserving, then I shall accept it,” the former CM said.
