BANGALORE: IGATE Corporation, a business outcomes based solutions provider announced on November 28 that it has broken into the ‘Limca Book of Records’ for its employee engagement initiative ‘Thank God it’s Monday’. Limca book of records has recognised this initiative as the longest running corporate show that has run for five years in a row. Thus iGATE Patni’s record will feature in the 2012 edition of the Limca Book of Records.As part of this programme, iGATE Patni’s in-house band, Rubberband presents a live musical performance every Monday afternoon at its Whitefield campus in Bangalore. Commenting on this accomplishment, Dr Srinivas Kandula, global head - human resources, iGATE Patni said, ‘Thank God it’s Monday’ is one of the many structured employee engagement programs that we have developed internally; manifesting our belief that an organisation’s true success lies in increasing the happiness quotient of its employees. We will continue with our constant endeavour to keep our employees happy.”The initiative aims at driving away Monday blues and creating a spirited workplace on the first day of the week. The Company’s employee-led rubberband first performed on November 6, 2006 with seven employees and now comprises of more than 30 members who churn out live musical numbers during the lunch hour for its colleagues every Monday.
