UDUPI: The previous Congress and JD(S) governments in the state spent around Rs 30 crore for the development of the minority communities, whereas the BJP government spent around Rs 300 crore, said Christian Development Corporation vice-chairman and MLC from Anglo Indian constituency Derrick Fullinfaw. “The government spent over Rs 50 crore for the welfare of Christians,” he added. Addressing press persons here on Sunday, Derrick said the BJP government came forward to build a Haj Ghar and released Rs 40 crore for it.“Once completed it will be one of the finest Haj Ghars in India and a monument for the Muslims,” he added. Derrick said at present UPA’s allies were involved in various multi-crore scams.On the other hand, many states ruled by the NDA allies developed. “We in the BJP believe in genuine secularism. This will help our party win the by-election,” he added. Christian leader Gerald Fernandes Moodublle, Musamun Babu and Veeresh Martin were present at the press meet.
