ELURU (WG): An action plan is being drawn to curb corruption from the village level upwards, chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy has announced.
As part of it, a pilot project will be implemented in three districts- Krishna, Khammam and Chittoor- from November 1 to issue birth, death, caste and other certificates to applicants at a nominal cost.Addressing a farmers' meeting at Pulla village on Thursday, he said that poeple can get the required certificates by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 10 at offices set up for the purpose.
In the first phase 25 varieties of certificates will be issued and the number will be increased to 60 in course of time. People need not make rounds to tahsildar's offices hereafter for certificates and the new system will eliminate scope for corruption.Promising to distribute ration cards and pensions, for which applications had been received during the Rachabanda programme, Reddy said micro and drip irrigation facilities would be provided to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes at a cost of Rs. 1,800 crore. He said women of selfhelp groups can each get a loan up to Rs. 15,000 without surety. An amount of Rs. 470 crore will be released to clear the Pavala Vaddi loan arrears till March 31 this year. He reiterated his assurance to the youth that one lakh jobs would be provided within three months.District incharge minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, ministers P Satyanarayana, Sunita Lakshma Reddy, Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, Eluru MP KS Rao, Narsapuram MP Kanumuri Bapiraju and others attended. Minister for tourism Vatti Vasanta Kumar presided over the programme. Earlier, the chief minister laid the foundation for a primary health centre and inaugurated a milk chilling centre. He interacted with women and farmers and asked them to take up dairy development.
