New Delhi: The BCCI has called off the proposed One-Day series against West Indies in Canada.
Canada was not prepared to host the matches this year and the BCCI is now looking for alternate venues. The series was scheduled outside the ICC's Future Tours Programme in September.
It would have been an ideal tune-up for both teams for the Champions Trophy which starts in October in India.
The BCCI had agreed to play the matches at a neutral venue to help the finances of the West Indies Cricket Board.
However the West Indies players didn’t seem too keen on playing the series and had threatened a boycott on Thursday. They said their board had not taken them into confidence about the matches.
