HYDERABAD: Stung by criticism following the controversial selection of Arjun Yadav in the Hyderabad Twenty20 team for the South Zone Twenty20 tournament, A Nandakishore, former Ranji captain and one of the four members of the selection committee, resigned here on Sunday.Nandakishore reportedly submitted his resignation and did not attend the selection committee meeting, convened to pick the Hyderabad Under-19 team, at Gymkhana.Arshad Ayub, president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, said he did not receive the resignation letter but added that Nanda had given the letter to DS Chalapathi, secretary, this morning.In the letter, Nandakishore stated that he wanted to quit and concentrate on umpiring.Nandakishore had joined the selection panel this season replacing Narendra Pal Singh.But the selectors ran into a controversy three days ago when they selected Arjun, son of BCCI vicepresident N Shivlal Yadav, despite poor scores in local leagues.
