PARADIP: With the Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti (PPSS) leader Abhay Sahu still behind bars and a frontline leader Narayan Reddy also arrested recently, the other leaders opposing the Posco steel project in Jagatsinghpur are engaged in drawing strategies on future course of action.The leaders of five political parties decided to conduct a protest meeting in Bhubaneswar on December 30 after meeting CPI leader Narayan Reddy at Kujang sub-jail on Tuesday.Those who met Reddy are Asish Kanungo of CPI, Abhiram Behera (CPM), Santosh Mitra (Forward Bloc), Harish Mohapatra (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and Rabi Behera (Samajwadi Party). Later, they attended a protest meeting at Dhinkia to express support to the anti-Posco activists of Dhinkia.The leaders, on the other hand, have demanded that contractor Sarkel be booked under the National Securities Act and property seized. They have also demanded a judicial probe into the December 14 Posco coastal road clash.Nearly 11 political parties, including CPI, CPM, Congress and BJP along with other anti-land displacement groups will join the stir.
