Amarmani's judicial custoday extended
A court in Dehradun extended the judicial custody of Amarmani Tripathi and his wife in the Madhumita Shukla murder case.

New Delhi: Controversial Samajwadi Party MLA from Laximpur (UP) Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani got a breather in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case.

A court in Dehradun today extended the couple’s judicial custody till March 11.

Additional Sessions' Judge Meena Tiwari heard the arguments and ordered the couple and three others accused in the murder - Rohit Chaturvedi, Prakash Pandey and Santosh - to be kept in judicial custody till March 11.

The next date of hearing has been fixed on March 12.

Meanwhile, Amarmani was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that he has full faith in the judiciary and that truth will prevail.

The case was shifted from Lucknow to Dehradun after the Supreme Court order on the request of Madhumita's family members that the accused are trying to influence the witnesses of the case.
