THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AC (U/T) Ayush Mourya emerged single champion in the Air Force Badminton Championship 2011-12 held at the Air Force Station, Thiruvananthapuram. Flt Lt Naqvi of Eastern Air Command and Cpl Gopinath of Western Air Command clinched the doubles event, and the Training Command stood first in the team rankings, followed by Western Air Command and Eastern Air Command. Seven Command teams of Air Force participated in the championship. The Championship was inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal K P Nair, SOA, HQ Southern Air Command IAF, on September 12 at the Indoor Badminton Hall of Air Force Station, Thiruvananthapuram. The closing ceremony was held on September 16 and the championship was declared closed by Air Vice Marshal K P Nair, SOA, HQ SAC IAF.
