CHENNAI: AIADMK MPs in both Houses of Parliament will raise the issue of a lull in the 2G investigation against former telecom minister Dayanaidhi Maran among other issues. The Parliament’s monsoon session opens on August 1. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa chaired a meeting of her party’s MPs on Wednesday and advised them to raise all people-related issues in the session. But there has been a lull in the case against Maran in the past few weeks. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa also urged her party’s MPs to raise issues such as hike in petroleum prices, retrieval of Katchatheevu, Tamil Nadu Assembly’s resolution urging economic sanctions against Sri Lanka over war crimes and other demands of the state pending before the Central government.Jayalalithaa, during her first meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh submitted a memorandum seeking special financial assistance for Tamil Nadu as well as increased allocation for various welfare projects.
