After RJD washout Rabri raises stink
Her husband was gracious in accepting defeat, but Bihar's former CM says RJD's ouster was a deep-rooted conspiracy.

Patna: Though RJD President Lalu Prasad sportingly accepted his defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls, his wife, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, is finding it hard to swallow.

She has attributed the drubbing of the RJD-led alliance to a "deep rooted" conspiracy.

"We were engaged in campaign and were not aware of the conspiracy, which was going on in a subtle manner to ensure the defeat of the RJD," said Rabri in her first reaction after her party's defeat.

The former Bihar CM did not name the Election Commission but cited large-scale transfer of Dalit, backward class and minority community officials to drive home her point regarding the conspiracy.

Rabri Devi, who will, most likely, be elected as the Opposition leader in Bihar House, said the newly elected RJD MLAs will meet on Friday.

The former CM, who presided over the government for a longer period than her husband during their 15-year-rule, said the RJD will be a "responsible Opposition" and raise issues relating to the poor and the downtrodden.

Asked how she expected the NDA government under Nitish Kumar to function, she said, "It all depends on how much evil influence the RSS wields on the government. Past experience has shown that RSS starts injecting its communal agenda into a government dependent on its help for survival. Only time will tell if Nitish can manage to stay clear of this evil influence."

On Nitish's statement that he will undo the wrongs (done by RJD misrule) within in three months, she said, "We will also see his magic."

What's your reaction?
