Acid attack: Preethi Rathi's family to protest outside Shinde's house
23-year-old Rathi was attacked with acid by an unidentified person while getting off a train in Bandra on the 2nd of May.

New Delhi: The family of the Mumbai acid attack victim, Preeti Rathi, will be protesting outside Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's house on Monday. The family has been pressurising for a CBI probe into the case.

Earlier they had met Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil appealing for the same.

An unidentified man had flung acid on Preeti Rathi, who hailed from New Delhi, when she got down from Garib Rath Express at Bandra Terminus in Mumbai on May 2. She was supposed to join the Colaba Naval Hospital 'INS Ashwini' as a staff nurse.

Preeti died on after being on ventilator support for two weeks. Her right lung had suffered severe damage in the acid attack and a few complications had also developed in her upper respiratory system.
