BANGALORE: The state government has decided to transfer four state-run engineering colleges opened in 2007-08 to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.Minister S Sureshkumar said that the government has approved the transfer of the engineering colleges in Raichur, Hoovinahadagali, Karwar and Gangavathi which were functioning out of rented premises.He said that the option to either join the VTU or return to to the state services was offered to teaching and non-teaching staff of these colleges.The government decided to open 9 engineering colleges in 2006, which included these institutions.
