At least 15 people were killed when a passenger bus skidded off the road on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
Jammu: At least 20 people were killed and 24 others injured, some of them seriously, when a passenger bus skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Kela Morh on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, police said.
Eight critically injured persons were airlifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu while 15 others were brought to Jammu by road.
The Army, Border Security Force and traffic police personnel are carrying out rescue operations at the spot of the accident, which occurred at around 0805 hours IST.
Labourers from Bihar and Nepal were traveling in the bus which was going to Leh.
