BONAI( SUNDARGARH) A group clash saw two persons of a family dead while six were injured at the interior Satkuta village under Bonai police limits, about 78 km from Rourkela, late on Tuesday.Police on Wednesday said six persons were arrested from the two groups and attributed the violence to previous enmity. Preliminary investigation revealed that the clash took place around 11.30 pm as leader of one group took objection to his family being humiliated on the charges of practising black magic.Bonai SDPO Amresh Panda has identified the deceased as Ghana Naik (55) and his nephew Kumbha Naik (35). Panda said Ghana’s wife was accused by Nabin Naik (55) and others of practising witchcraft against Nabin’s family. Peeved, Ghana on Tuesday night shot an arrow into the stomach of Nabin’s 11-year-old grandson Sunil. In retaliation Nabin and others attacked Ghana.While Ghana was hacked to death on the spot, his nephew Kumbha and others who resisted were injured. Kumbha was declared brought dead at the Bonai sub-divisional hospital.Three injured persons from each side were shifted to Ispat General Hospital at Rourkela and condition of one of them is stated to be critical. A case of attempt to murder has been registered for bid on the child in which one person has been arrested. Five persons, Nabin Naik (55), Nikunja Naik (24), Sujan Naik (40), Sagar Naik (22) and Manoj Naik (23) were arrested for the murders. They would be produced in the court on Thursday.
