TIRUPPATHUR/NAMAKKAL: Two industrialists from Bangalore were killed when the car in which they were travelling, crashed against a roadside tree near Tiruppathur in Sivaganga district on Monday.Manoharan (50), a textile trader of Bangalore, had come with his wife Kavitha (36), his friend and industrialist Anandavadivelan (47), and Anandavadivelan’s wife Varalakshmi (40), and three of their children to Madurai. After offering worship at the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, they left for Pillayarpatti at 10 am on Monday. While nearing Tiruppathur, Manoharan, who was at the wheel, lost control of the car and it crashed against a tamarind tree. Manoharan was killed on the spot and Anandavadivelan, who was admitted to the Tiruppathur Government Hospital with critical injuries, succumbed there. Five others, who were injured in the accident, have been admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai. S S Kottai police have registered a case and are making inquiries into the accident .One Killed As Lorry Runs Amok One person was killed and two others seriously hurt, after they were run over by an out-of-control lorry in Kosavampalayam, near Thiruchengode on Monday. The driver of the lorry was said to be in an inebriated state when the mishap occurred.As per sources in the police, M Palanisamy alias Manikkam, a resident of Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Sathinaickenpalayam, Kumaramangalam was standing on the side of a road with his friend Dhanapal, when the lorry hit them. Palanisamy was killed on the spot while Dhanapal sustained severe injuries in the accident. Later, the same lorry also hit a motorist, Vadivel who also sustained severe injuries. Police said, the driver of the sand lorry, which was on its way to Musiri from Erode, was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened.
