Jaipur: At least 15 onlookers, including two camerapersons, were on Thursday injured when a portion of wall at the historic Amber Fort collapsed during shooting of Salman Khan-starrer Veer.

The condition of one of the news channel cameramen was stated to be serious, Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogita Meena said.

A stretch of 10-15 feet long wall in the Amber fort campus collapsed due to pressure exerted by thousands of spectators, some of whom were standing on it, she said.

"The wall was not very high. Spectators were standing on its either side. As soon as Salman Khan appeared riding a horse, people jostled to see him and the wall could not take the pressure," Meena said.

The film shooting, however, continued till evening. Seven of the injured were rushed to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital, while others were taken to a nearby government hospital.

The shooting of Veer, produced by Vijay Gailani and directed by Anil Sharma, at the Amber Fort, 20 km was here was earlier mired in controversy with one Rajendra Singh challenging it on the grounds that it was violative of the Monument Protection Act.

The Amber Fort Authority later cleared the decks after the filmamakers assured them of taking all precautions to ensure that no damage was caused to the fort during the shooting.

Police had earlier tried to disperse the unruly crowd and even lathi charged them, Meena said.
