Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has taken the Telugu box office by storm since it was released on October 19. Amid the presence of Balakrishna and good word of mouth, the film managed to mint Rs 75 crore to date, to add more in the upcoming week.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, despite a series of flops until 2021, made a remarkable comeback with Akhanda. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, this film marked a turning point in his career, emerging as his biggest hit. Following this success, he continued his winning streak with Veera Simha Reddy and Bhagavanth Kesari. Reports indicate that he received a hefty sum of 18 crores for his role in Bhagavanth Kesari. These consecutive hits have empowered him to negotiate a substantial hike in his remuneration, reportedly boosting his paycheck by 10 crores. As a result, he is expected to command a significant fee of 28 crores for his upcoming film with Bobby, produced under Naga Vams’s banner.
Balakrishna’s approach to remuneration stands out, with the actor opting for a reasonable fee. Despite his recent string of successful films, he maintains a relatively lower pay scale in comparison to other leading stars. His pragmatic compensation approach has won the hearts of producers, who appreciate his punctuality and strong work ethic. Balakrishna’s commitment ensures that his film projects are completed efficiently within a stipulated timeframe, sparing producers from the prolonged delays often associated with film productions.
In Bhagavanth Kesari, Nandamuri Balakrishna ventures down a unique path by portraying a character that aligns with his actual age, setting him apart from peers such as Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi, who frequently take on younger roles. Balayya’s role in the movie casts him as Srileela’s father.
Upon its release, the film had an occupancy rate of 62.03 per cent for the day. Notably, it set a new record for the highest night show occupancy at 72.34 per cent.
Notably, his preceding film had a box office showdown with Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya.
