This wikiHow teaches you to turn off ad targeting in Instagram. If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are linked, you can change your Facebook settings to prevent Instagram from showing you personalized ads.
In your web browser, go to “Facebook.com”.
Click the small arrow in the top right of your page. This will bring up a menu.
Select Settings.
Click Ads. This is in the menu on the left.
Click “Can you see online interest-based ads from Facebook?” next to the first option, “Ads based on my use of websites and apps”.
Click the button that says “On”. This is directly under the text “Show online interest-based ads:”
Click Off from the options provided. This will not reduce the ads you see, but it will make them less relevant.
