How to Hem Jeans with Hot Glue
How to Hem Jeans with Hot Glue
Sewing isn't for everyone, but quick repairs often need to be done. Alterations to clothing can sometimes be done using shortcuts, like using hemming tape or snaps. In this tutorial, you will learn about how to use hot glue to hem jeans.
Steps

Hemming the Cuffs of the Legs

Try on your jeans to determine where they will be hemmed. Mark a line with a pencil or chalk where you would like for them to be hemmed.

Take the jeans off and lay them flat on your work surface.

Using sharp scissors, cut a few inches below the line you drew to allow room for a cuff.

Cuff the jeans to the desired length.

Heat the hot glue gun. Then use glue in between each layer of denim to secure them.

You're all done!

Using Lace or Fabric Trim

Try on your jeans to determine where they will be hemmed. Mark a line with a pencil or chalk where you would like for them to be hemmed.

Take the jeans off and lay them flat on your work surface.

Using sharp scissors, cut about half an inch below the line you drew.

Turn the jeans inside out, and fold a half inch cuff.

Secure the cuff to the "wrong side" of the jeans with glue.

Take lace or fabric trim, and glue it around the cuff, along the hem you just made.

Turn the jeans right side out, and you're finished!
