Divya Pahuja Murder: Former Model Blackmailed Main Accused Abhijeet Singh Over Obscene Photos

Divya Pahuja, the 27-year-old former model who was shot dead at a hotel in Gurugram on Tuesday night, was allegedly blackmailing the owner of the establishment where she was murdered. Three persons including hotel owner, Abhijeet Singh and two of his alleged accomplices, Omprakash and Hemraj, have been arrested in the case.

Divya Pahuja was one of the accused in her boyfriend, gangster Sandeep Gadoli’s murder in an alleged fake police encounter in Mumbai in 2016.

Quoting sources, an NDTV report said Pahuja allegedly had some obscene videos of Singh on her phone which she refused to delete. She was allegedly blackmailing the hotel owner with the photos.

CCTV footage recovered from the scene of the crime at the Gurugram Hotel showed Divya Pahuja at the reception with the hotel owner, Abhijeet Singh early in the morning on Tuesday.

Later on Tuesday night, two men were caught in CCTV footage dragging her down a hotel corridor. The footage of the body being dragged is also the last time it was seen.

According to the police, the body was driven somewhere in Singh’s BMW in the direction of Punjab and dumped. The police haven’t been able to locate the body and a hunt is on.

Pahuja had been in jail for seven years for her alleged involvement in the fake encounter of Gurugram gangster Sandeep Gadoli in 2016. She was granted bail in June 2023.

Speaking about the case, DCP West, Bhupender Singh Sangwan said, “We have arrested three accused involved in the murder of Pahuja. Further probe is underway.”

“On the evening of 2nd January the police received information about the dead body of a woman in a hotel near the bus stand… On looking at the CCTV footage of the hotel, we found that the dead body had been displaced from the hotel in a BMW car by three people… The owner of the hotel, Abhijit and two of his employees have been arrested,” DCP Crime, Vijay Partap said.

According to an NDTV report, police are searching for two or three accomplices of the accused, who were allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh by Singh to dispose of Pahuja’s body.
