'Udinese want Sanchez bidding war'
'Udinese want Sanchez bidding war'
Manchester City, Barcelona and Inter Milan are all vying for the exciting attacker.

Milan: Former Juventus general director Luciano Moggi does not concur with Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo's comments on Monday claiming that they are still eager to hold on to star player Alexis Sanchez.

Moggi feels the club are merely attempting to generate a bidding war for the Chilean.

Pozzo stated that they have yet to receive a concrete offer that reflects their valuation of Sanchez, and added that the 22-year-old could stay put, although he admitted that Manchester City's spending power could give them an advantage over Barcelona in the race for his signature.

Last week the Catalan giants were favourites to complete a deal, and met Sanchez's personal demands, but the club's transfer budget of 40 million pounds could have scuppered their chances, given their interest in other targets such as Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi.

However, Moggi feels that the Serie A side are resigned to losing Sanchez, and are looking to generate the maximum fee possible for the exciting attacker, while stating his opinion that Inter are the frontrunners to land his services, despite rumours that Barcelona and City were leading the way.

"Pozzo is bluffing when he says that Udinese want to hold on to Sanchez. In reality, he is just trying to spark a bidding war between the interested clubs," Moggi was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"Inter and Manchester City are the two most serious candidates to lure Sanchez away from Udine. I believe that Inter lead the chase ahead of the English side."

Sanchez is contracted to Udinese until the summer of 2014, and it is thought that an offer in the region of around 35 million pounds could be needed to conclude business.
