New Delhi: Manchester United's elimination from the Champions League at the hands of a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Real Madrid on Tuesday has elicited much response on Twitter, notably from former and current football players.
Real Madrid took advantage of a controversial red card to Nani to beat the Red Devils 2-1 (3-2 on aggregate) in the Champions League last 16. The 56th-minute red card, shown for a dangerous challenge, was the turning point of the game as Real won with goals from Luka Modric and Ronaldo after United had gone ahead thanks to a Sergio Ramos own goal.
