Serie A: Napoli win, Parma beaten by Palermo
Palermo came from a goal down to win 3-1 against Parma while Napoli beat Genoa 1-0.

Milan: Napoli kept the pressure on Serie A leaders AC Milan and Lazio by beating Genoa 1-0 on Saturday.

Napoli has 30 points, while Milan and Lazio have 33 and 30 respectively. But both play on Sunday.

Marek Hamsik headed his seventh goal of the season in the 25th minute and caused Genoa's defense numerous problems with his runs on the left wing.

Napoli had to play the last five minutes and injury time with 10 men after Michele Pazienza was sent off for a wild lunge at Omar Milanetto.

"We all had to do our bit tonight to put pressure on those teams playing on Sunday," Napoli defender Hugo Campagnaro said. "It wasn't easy to play on this pitch, but we did what we had to do."

Also, Udinese fought back from a goal down to beat Fiorentina 2-1. Mario Santana gave Fiorentina the lead in the first half, but Pablo Armero and Antonio Di Natale scored after halftime to give the hosts victory.

Palermo also came from a goal down to win 3-1 at home against Parma. Alessandro Lucarelli gave Parma an early lead, but Mauricio Pinilla brought Palermo level in the 51st.

Fabio Miccoli put the Sicilian side 2-1 ahead and Cristian Zaccardo then conceded an own goal with a minute left.

Genoa went close to opening the scoring through Dario Dainielli and Marco Rossi early on, but it was Napoli that took the lead.

Walter Gargano swung in a free kick and an unmarked Hamsik powered a header past Eduardo at the near post.

After the break, Genoa stepped up its efforts and twice came close to scoring in quick succession.

In the 61st Giandomenico Mesto hit the ball across the face of goal but Toni was unable to reach it and two minutes later the striker flicked Gergely Rudolf's low cross wide at the near post.

Rossi then hooked an effort wide in the 71st and even after Pazienza was sent off Genoa was unable to make the breakthrough.

"The season is long, but we are growing and we shall see what happens," Campagnaro said. "All we were thinking about tonight was what we had to do and that brought us the victory."

For Udinese, Di Natale and Kwadwo Asamoah had chances before Fiorentina opened the scoring in the 31st.

Santana cut in from the right and fired a low shot past Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic from outside the area.

A minute later Gaetano D'Agostino tried from similar range, but Handanovic tipped the shot over the bar.

Udinese equalized in spectacular style in the 63rd. Armero received the ball halfway into the Fiorentina half and when he wasn't closed down, he thundered a shot into the corner of Vlada Avramov's net.

With 10 minutes remaining Udinese took the lead. German Denis held the ball up in the box and laid it off to Di Natale and he flicked it past Avramov.

Fiorentina had a chance to equalize three minutes from the finish, but Babacar headed weakly at Handanovic from D'Agostino's free kick.

"It was a great performance, as it had to be against Fiorentina," Di Natale said. "Fiorentina made it difficult for us when it took the lead, but we stayed calm, stuck to our game plan and deserved the win."
