PSG to Approach Manchester United's Marcus Rashford With Renewed Offer: Reports

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly seen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Mbappe is set to become a free agent at the end of the ongoing season. According to several reports in France, the 25-year-old striker has made up his mind to join Real Madrid once his current contract with PSG expires. The Spanish giants are also confident of signing Mbappe, who is understood to be ready to cut down his £62 million-a-year wages. It might have led the French league champions to draw up a shortlist of attacking options, with Rashford being one of the candidates.

PSG have kept their track on Marcus Rashford for quite some time now. Rashford was heavily linked with a move to PSG last summer but later extended his stay at Old Trafford, agreeing to a new five-year deal. The French giants may once again try to secure the signing of Rashford during the summer transfer window, as per several media reports.

PSG went quite close to completing the signing of Marcus Rashford last July as both parties had reportedly completed the contract negotiation. The England international, however, later changed his plans and chose to stay in the Premier League.

Back then, PSG claimed that Marcus Rashford and his representatives used them as leverage to get a better offer from Manchester United. Referring to the collapsed deal, the French club has reportedly asked Rashford to confirm his decision first.

Marcus Rashford has struggled to showcase his A game for Manchester United this season. He has managed to find the back of the net five times in his 18 appearances across all competitions. A few weeks back, Rashford missed an FA Cup fixture against Newport County having reportedly spent an evening at a nightclub in Belfast. His behaviour did not go down well with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag as well as the club officials. It led to the footballer being fined two weeks’ wages.

Marcus Rashford came back strong during a Premier League fixture against Wolves. He broke the deadlock in the away fixture, with Manchester United picking up a 4-3 victory. Rashford, however, looked quite pale in the subsequent league game against Wolves which the Red Devils succeeded in winning 3-0.
