Injury scare for van Persie ahead of semi-final

Johannesburg: Netherlands striker Robin van Persie has gone to the hospital for a scan on an arm injury he picked up in Friday's 2-1 World Cup victory over Brazil and is a doubt for his team's semifinal match against Uruguay.

Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk says he did not yet know the extent of the injury.

Van Persie fell on his arm during the game in Port Elizabeth.

Defender Joris Mathijsen, who pulled out of the game against Brazil during the warmup with a right knee problem, is also having a scan.
