Margao: Haroon Fakhruddin Amri's double strike helped Dempo FC to come back from behind and hold Sporting Clube de Goa to a 2-2 draw in the Hero I-League football on Saturday.
Dempo, who held the edge in the initial stage of the first half, took the lead in the 23rd minute through Amri after a lapse by keeper Lalit Tapa, who allowed the ball to slip through his hands.
Sporting, who came back strongly in the latter part of the first half, equalised in the stoppage time through Victorino Fernandes (45+2).
Sporting, who had better possession in the second half, took the lead in 68th minute through Odafe Okolie and looked set for their first win before Amiri once again struck in the 89th minute when he headed the ball off Francis Fernandes cross.
The draw takes Dempo FC to 10 points from 11 matches.
While Sporting Clube de Goa, who are lying at the bottom, have six points from 12 games.
Sporting Clube de Goa settled down as the match wore on and came close to scoring on a few occasions, but their strikers lacked finishing touches with Odafe Okolie twice failing to score.
