New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) made it clear that they have no objection with the Pune FC v Blackburn Rovers exhibition tie scheduled for July 22 in Pune provided that the organizers get the clearance from the state and central government.
This was after Western India Football Association (WIFA) secretary Souter Vaz had approached the Indian FA as to whether they had any objection with regards to the hosting of the match.
The reason for the diplomatic reply is also the blasts that rocked the city of Mumbai on Wednesday though the AIFF never mentioned about the same in their official response, according to sources close to Goal.com.
"Tomorrow if any untoward incident may happen, FIFA will contact the AIFF. In order to keep our position strong for future as well, we gave a diplomatic reply which shall put the ball in their court," said a highly placed official of the AIFF.
Meanwhile the official documents to get the green signal has begun with the required proposal being sent to the Sports Ministry which will be later forwarded to the Home and External Affairs Ministry only to return back to the former for the final approval.
