EPL: Chelsea shocked, Arsenal beat Everton
Sunderland cause a major upset by toppling Chelsea 3-0 while Arsenal win 2-1 against Everton.

London: Chelsea's sensational home record went up in smoke as goals by Nedum Onuoha, Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck gave Sunderland a shock 3-0 victory over the Premier League leaders while Arsenal won 2-1 at Everton earlier on Sunday.

The reigning champions hadn't conceded a goal at Stamford Bridge all season before their match against the Black Cats but a defense missing first-choice center halves Alex and John Terry fell apart.

Nedum Onuoha put Sunderland ahead in the 44th minute with a stunning individual effort before Gyan scored his fourth goal in three games to make it 2-0 in the 52nd.

Welbeck then took advantage of a careless back pass by Ashley Cole to slip in the third with three minutes left.

"They've done fantastically well," Sunderland manager Steve Bruce said of his players. "I'm delighted for them. It's not often you come to Chelsea and win 3-0."

Chelsea barely threatened Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon in a lame attacking display and now leads the league by just two points from Arsenal.

Arsenal climbed into second place in the Premier League with their victory over Everton.

Bacary Sagna scored a rare goal in the 36th minute when the France right back smashed a high shot in at the near post from 10 yards.

Cesc Fabregas doubled Arsenal's lead three minutes into the second half after exchanging passes with Marouane Chamakh before steering a low shot into the far corner.

Everton piled on the pressure in the final 20 minutes and reduced the deficit in the 89th when Australia midfielder Tim Cahill bundled in from close range after Louis Saha headed down a corner at the far post.

Arsenal, though, held on for the three points that lift the team above Manchester United in the table.

Everton remained 13th following its first defeat in eight games.
