There are speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo might give the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Zurich in January a miss to upset FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
Ronaldo has become one of the favourite to win the 2013 best footballer award after he scored a hat-trick in Portugal's World Cup play-offs against Sweden on Tuesday.
However, FIFA has extended the voting deadline to Nov 29 due to low turnout of votes. Another reason for Ronaldo considering to skip the event could be the bias towards three-time winner Lionel Messi.
Blatter, recently commenting on both the players said, "Ronaldo spends more time at the hairdresser". But the FIFA president apologised for his comments and also getting a mild response from Ronaldo.
The Portugal captain is yet to confirm about his participation in the ceremony in Zurich if he gets shortlisted for the award.
