London: Arsenal has finally signed Marouane Chamakh from Bordeaux on a free transfer after months of rumors over the Morocco striker's future.
The 26-year-old Chamakh was linked with Arsenal for several months before Friday's announcement.
He was available on a free transfer since his contract with Bordeaux runs out at the end of this season.
Chamakh signed what the Premier League club called a "long-term contract."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says "he is a player we have admired for some time now and I know he will provide our squad with great quality."
Chamakh added that Arsenal was his "preferred club."
