Actress Simran, who was last seen in Andhagan, took social media by surprise with a post lashing out at many rumours that are making the rounds on social media about her. Without mentioning the names or addressing the rumours, the actress asked the people concerned to verify the news before spreading the wrong information. She also expressed her disappointment with her friends for not standing up to her.
The post has created a lot of discussion about the reason behind Simran’s sudden outburst. In the comment section, many cited an unverified report published daily as the reason. The unverified report claims that Simran had approached Vijay with plans to produce a film, but the actor has turned it down. Several other rumours claimed that the actress was approached for Thalapathy 69, Vijay’s last film before his political venture.
However, putting an end to all such rumours, Simran took to social media and wrote, “It’s truly disheartening to see how people can emotionally manipulate you and how little your friends seem to care about it. Up until now, I’ve stayed quiet, but let me make it clear: I’m not desperate to line up and work with any big heroes. I’ve been there and done that. My goals are different now, and as a woman, I know my boundaries.”
She added, “For years, I remained silent when my name kept appearing on social media, being linked with one or another. But self-respect comes first. ‘STOP’ is a powerful word, and it’s the right one here. No one ever reached out or made any effort to put an end to these rumors. No one cared about my feelings. I’ve never taken advantage of my name; I’ve always stood firm for what’s right. I expect the same integrity from sensible people in the industry. Those spreading false rumors owe me a sincere apology.”
When News18 reached out to Simran, she said, “It is unfortunate that no one cross-checks such rumours. It is unprofessional and questions their ethics. The onus is on the production house to stop rumours about casting. If something like this untoward happens they have to intervene. I chose to react now because these things keep happening and must stop. I am talking not just for me but to everyone who faces similar things. Someone had to stand up to such harassment.”
Ever since Simran expressed her feelings on social media, many stars and fans have come out in support of her. Actress Khushbu commented, “More power to you.” Similarly, actress Ramya Subramanian wrote, “You need no one else to complete your stardom, Mam. You have made it from scratch by yourself then, now and always. Lots of love to you.”
