Amandeep Sidhu On Working With Ravi And Sargun's Badall Pe Paon Hai: 'They Are Professionals' | Exclusive
Amandeep Sidhu opens up on her role in Badall Pe Paon Hai. The show also stars Aakash Ahuja and airs on Sab TV.

Television actress Amandeep Sidhu has opened up about being a part of Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s show, Badall Pe Paon Hai. In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Sidhu called the couple “professionals” and shared that they always try to bring something new to the audience. Amandeep also talked about her comeback after Saubhagyati Bhava and admitted that she was waiting for the right project before Badall Pe Paon Hai. Here are some of the excerpts from the interview:

How were you finalised for your role in Badall Pe Paon Hai?

When I first heard about the show and the character, like the audience, I was amazed as to how can one show such an acquisitive woman as a protagonist in a daily soap. But as I read the script and the story, I found this is something new and very different from what is shown in the TV industry. The show addresses the journey of a young spirited woman who has some big aspirations and this is something that the audience, especially modern-day girls can surely resonate with. This concept excited me the most for doing the show.

It is a Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey Show. They have produced several successful shows on television. Do you think such achievements/producers guarantee the success of the show?

Viewers today have a lot of options in all areas, be it films, TV or OTT so it becomes more difficult to catch their attention. Ravi and Sargun are revered professionals who have a lot of experience and always try to show something very new and unique compared to other shows. I hope people love the show, the entire team is happy that we are doing something new and unique and it will surely be a treat for the audience to see what we have come up with.

Does being a part of Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey’s show also add performance pressure on you?

There is no pressure as Ravi and Sargun are experienced actors and producers so they have created a comfortable and family-like environment on the set. Getting an opportunity to work with them is a blessing for me as I am learning so many new things from them due to their meticulous approach, hard work, and dedication.

How and when was your first meeting with Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey? How did they guide you for Badall Pe Paon Hai?

After the mock shoot and the selection process, I got a call from Sargun. She called me at her place and informed me about my selection. During the meeting, she told me that the character of Baani that I would be portraying would be very different from the characters that I had played in my other shows. She suggested that I forget all my previous characters and consider this as a new chapter of my life. All the workshops and the script reading sessions that we had till now, have always helped me in preparing for the role.

Do you think, for actors, it is important to have projects one after another, otherwise there is a fear of losing relevance?

As an actor, I won’t do a show just for the sake of doing it because an actor’s image also depends on the success of the projects they work on. While doing Saubhagyavati Bhava, I thought that it was a very successful serial courtesy of Karanvir Bohra and Sriti Jha and it would surely do wonders but it didn’t. After Saubhagyavati went off-air I was looking for a good project whether it was in OTT, TV, or a role in a movie and then I got this opportunity. The reason I agreed to do Badall Pe Paon Hai is because the story looked very different from what I had done in my career before grabbing the show. I found it challenging and quite exciting.

Do you think it will be difficult for you to break away from your and Dheeraj Dhoopar’s on-screen chemistry and establish yours with Aakash Ahuja now?

The audience will be stunned after seeing how I portray Baani in the show. The characters of Siya and Baani are quite opposite and there is no comparison between them. The chemistry I had with Dheeraj is vice-a-versa of what I am going to have with Aakash and I am confident that the audience will find it enticing.

What's your reaction?
