Lucknow resident Anjani Yadav has clinched the 12th position in UPPCS, paving the way for her appointment as SDM. Presently stationed at Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited in Sultanpur, she commenced her role in November. Before this, Anjani dedicated five years to the corporate sector. Anjani’s elder sister, Anjali Yadav, serves as a deputy jailer in Kanpur, her father Pradeep Yadav holds a position at the police headquarters in Lucknow, and her mother Kunti Yadav is a homemaker.
Upon conversing with Anjani Yadav, who arrived in Lucknow from Sultanpur, she attributed her success to her mother. During her UPPCS preparation, her mother played a pivotal role, given her father’s busy schedule. Anjani revealed that this was her second attempt; the first one in 2022 did not yield success. Undeterred, she persevered, clearing both Mains and the interview to secure the 12th rank this time.
Anjani Yadav emphasised that her study approach didn’t rely on fixed hours but centred around understanding and clarity of concepts. Her dedicated focus and continuous study, without breaks, transitioned seamlessly from prelims to mains. Additionally, she benefited significantly from two private coaching sessions undertaken during this period.
Aspiring to make a meaningful impact, Anjani Yadav, once appointed as SDM, expresses a keen interest in focusing on the education of young girls, recognising the transformative effect education has on entire families. Father Pradeep Yadav expressed confidence in his daughter’s officer potential7, while mother Kunti Yadav became emotional upon learning about her daughter’s government officer status. Aunt Neerja Shukla conveyed her immense happiness for Anjani’s achievements.
The UPPSC has announced the results of PCS 2023, with 251 candidates securing their place out of over 3 lakh who appeared for the Prelims. While this reflects a success rate of less than 1 per cent, candidates who didn’t make it shouldn’t lose hope. There’s still an opportunity to aim for roles like Deputy Collector and DSP, as long as they fall within the age limit criteria.
