The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is a group of central government schools in India, falling under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is known for its academic excellence. Many parents want to get their children admitted to their schools. Securing admission to these schools is not an easy task, with even a minor error in the entrance exam form leading to cancellation of admission. KV gives admission to students from Class 1 to Class 12. It holds an entrance examination for Class 1 and Class 9 students, and for students who want to take admission from Class 2 to Class 8, the school holds a lottery system. So, let’s look at the eligibility, important dates, and how to apply:
KVS Admission 2024: Eligibility
One of the most important criteria for students to take admission in KV is their age. Kendriya Vidyalaya mandates that children must be at least 6 years old to be eligible for Class 1 admission. This policy ensures readiness among the students for the academic year ahead. This rule accommodates applicants turning 6 by April 1, providing a window of opportunity for those born on the threshold. For the higher classes, particularly Classes 9 and 11, the institution has been flexible in terms of its age criteria, and there is no such defined minimum or maximum age limit.
