The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has released the JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) 2024 answer key challenge facility window on the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in. As part of this process, the institute has made available the response sheets of candidates who participated in the examination for admission to various programmes such as MSc, MSc Tech, MS Research, MSc-MTech dual degree, Joint MSc – PhD, and MSc – PhD Dual Degree at IIT-M.
The examination results are scheduled to be announced on March 22, 2024, and students will receive an All India Rank based on their performance in the exam conducted on February 11. The examination, conducted for the academic year 2024-25, aimed to fill approximately 3,000 seats across various programs in IITs. It’s important to note that admission to these programmes under JAM 2024 does not necessitate any additional evaluation processes like suitability tests or interviews.
IIT JAM 2024: How to raise objection?
Step 1: Go to the official website of IIT JAM 2024 at jam.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, find and click on the link, “Challenges and contest open from Feb 26-28, 2024.”
Step 3: A new page will open where you will have to fill in all your details.
Step 4: Choose the answer for which you wish to raise objections.
Step 5: Submit and download the page for further reference.
IIT JAM 2024: Marking Scheme
In the JAM 2024 examination, the marking scheme is as follows:
Section A (MCQs): This section consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. For each incorrect answer to 1-mark questions, 1/3rd of a mark will be deducted. For 2-mark questions, 2/3rds of a mark will be deducted for each wrong response.
Section B (MSQs): There are 10 multiple-selection questions in this section. No negative or partial markings are applied to answers in this section.
Section C (NAT): This section comprises 20 Numerical Answer Type questions. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The JAM 2024 question paper comprised three sections, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple-selection questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Each paper contained a total of 60 questions, collectively carrying 100 marks.
The exam covered seven subjects, namely biotechnology, economics, physics, chemistry, mathematics, mathematical statistics, and geology. Notably, there is no restriction on the number of attempts for the IIT JAM entrance exam 2024. Candidates can take the exam as many times as they want, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.
